Birthday Birds

Sunday, March 20, 2011

You might be wondering how I’ve had so much free time this weekend to redo the blog and have all these post. Well the answer is simple- The Boy has been finishing up a submittal for an architecture competition and although it stinks that we didn't get to spend the day together at the beach today it does mean all of our evenings and weekends will be much more us and much less computer time. Plus it was sort of nice to just do whatever I felt like doing today. We're focusing on the apartment next weekend, several projects in the works, and yes- projects mean pictures for you! We are getting ready for our first of many visitors this season and we're oh so excited to be seeing some familiar faces soon. Here are a few gifts from my birthday scattered about the apartment.

The birds are from my in-laws and can be found here

Sample, Sample, Sample

Finally hung my sample fonts for onesies, hopefully seeing them everyday will inspire me to get them photographed and posted!

Birthday Cake

It wouldn’t be a birthday without cake, and in our case- a little baby cake! Hey we are only two people we don’t need to eat an entire sheet!

Pushing me to the breaking point.

Dear tumblr. I’m losing faith. I spent a good part of the last couple of days redesigning my blog and learning/doing some css coding to make it more me. In that time I’ve had countless ‘time outs’ and error messages from tumblr apologizing for the error. So consider this your warning t- keep it up and I’m leaving you. I hear wordpress has some plugins that can make a blog look almost just as good at yours

Don’t make me do it.

….Oh my next girl [blog]

will be nothing like, my ex girl [blog]

I made mistakes back then, I'll never do it again…

Pinterest

For those of you who haven’t heard about it yet. You should REALLY check out pinterest. It’s this great little site where you can create your own boards to keep track of all the inspiration for projects, pictures, your home- whatever images you find on the vast interweb and want to remember for later. It links back to the original website so appropriate credit is given and it provides you with your own little spot to organize all those images for later. You can follow other people’s boards too! If you’re interested in what I’ve been pinning lately you can check it out and follow my pins here:http://pinterest.com/Rach_Whit/

*In all my CSSing and tumblr hacking today I found a way to link things to the Pinterest tab on the home page.

In an effort to make the blog more enjoyable I’m going to work on the length of my post. This way there will be less words/pictures per post and a lot less time in between each post. I’ll keep this one short and sweet and just share a tidbit from the weekend before last. John had a little extra $$ on his paycheck and we decided it was time to get out and do some of those island adventures. So we bought a nice body board and spent the whole day on the beaches of the North Shore. It took him nearly drowning (not kidding) but he got the hang of it! This video is really deceiving I’m sitting on a big hill down into the ocean and the wave he’s on was somewhere between 3-5’ tall (hawaiian standard) Hope you had as enjoyable a weekend as we did!
